Where the Wind Comes Sweeping Down the Plains and Generates Electricity

We will journey to a commercial-scale wind farm and explore the development of wind energy in Oklahoma. The tour through the Blue Canyon Wind Farm in the Slick Hills near Lawton will be led by representatives of the developer, Horizon Wind, and the Oklahoma Wind Power Initiative. Discussion topics through the day will include the social, economic, and environmental impacts of the growing renewable energy industry. The cost will include all travel, lunch, tour of facilities, and handouts.
