Aondover TarhuleAppointments at the University of Oklahoma: Instructor of Geography Courses Physical Geography Bio Dr. Aondover Tarhule joined the Geography Department in 1999 following a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. His expertise is in physical hydrology (specifically the analysis of extreme events such as floods and droughts). His research interests include hydro-climatic reconstruction and rural water issues particularly in the Sahel Savanna zone of West Africa. Dr. Tarhule applies geo-electric techniques to investigate various water issues in shallow alluvial aquifers. An on-going project is exploring the feasibility of using tree-ring analysis to reconstruct floods and droughts in the Sahel. Education Ph.D., Geography, McMaster University, 1997 Dissertation: "Droughts, Rainfall and Rural Water Supply in Northern Nigeria" Concentration: Extreme Events in Hydrology: Floods and Droughts; The Hydrology of Arid Environments M.Sc., Geography, McMaster University, 1993 M.Sc., Environmental and Resources Planning, University of Jos, 1991 B.Sc., Geography (First Class Honours), University of Jos, 1988 Research Experience Post-Doctoral Fellow (Science Advisory Research Council), Queens University, Kingston, 1998.
