The 17th International Congress of Biometeorology was held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, 5-9 September 2005. The congress was attended by members from 46 countries. The theme of the Congress was Adaptation to Weather, Climate and Climate Change. Topics of discussion varied from the influence of rain on honeybees to climate change and the location of future Winter Olympic Games.
The triennial Congresses are marked by a wonderful sense of scholarly interaction and congeniality. This Congress was no exception with over 200 papers and posters presented and wide ranging social activities, including trips to peaks in the Bavarian Alps and, of course, sampling of German beers. Enjoy the following photos which highlight some of the social and academic moments of the Congress. |
